Kreitner Elementary School is one of nine elementary schools in the Collinsville School District. Kreitner houses grades Pre-K through fourth grades, with an enrollment of approximately 330 students. Kreitner has a population that includes 54.2% white and 45.8% Hispanic students. English is a second language for many of the students attending Kreitner. The low income percentage at Kreitner is over 90%, which is the highest in the district.
Students are provided with a curriculum rich in language arts and mathematics as well as science, social sciences, technology and health. Physical education and music classes are offered weekly as well. Title I services are provided on a school-wide basis for low achieving students. A variety of instructional methods and materials are used to ensure that the Illinois Learning Standards are being addressed in all areas.
